the unique tragedy

I just saw a videothat is part of a video series about death entitled For Those Left Behind, by ustaz Omar Suleiman from the Yaqeen Institute (https://yaqeeninstitute.org/watch/series). This particular episode (https://yaqeeninstitute.org/omar-suleiman/ep-11-losing-a-child-for-those-left-behind) talks specifically about parents losing a child.

Briefly, few points from the video:

1. Losing a child is a unique tragedy. For parents, having to grieve for a dead child is one of the heaviest and greatest trial in life.

2. All children are pure, and they will definitely enter Jannah. They will also wait for their parents at the gates of Paradise. This is true whether they are children of believers or non -believers, whether they died after having lived for awhile, or miscarried as fetuses.

That is why, it was mentioned in the video, that we do not have to worry for the children that have died, for they are pure, and they are definite dwellers of the Paradise. It is us, the adults that are left behind that need to live on with the pain. And if we were to do it right, the way Allah intend us too, we will meet our dead children in Paradise as well.

3. The prophet himself, Muhammad (pbuh) lost 6 of his 7 children! And still, he himself cried, despite knowing about Allah's promise of what happens to these children in the hereafter, despite him already being able to see and smell Paradise with Allah's will.

It is okay therefore, to be sad, to cry, to grieve. It is okay to acknowledge this great pain, as long as we accept the loss humbly and be thankful always to the Almighty for it. Allah has promised us the rewards - protection from the hellfire, and chance of seeing the children again in Paradise. We just need to make sure we continue to strive for it, insyaAllah.

 Subhanallah!

so on to local news.

the maid we hired to help my mom-in-law can't come back to work for us anymore because she is now pregnant.
with twins.

Games backs safe sex despite plumbing problems

NEW DELHI (AFP) - – Commonwealth Games chief Mike Fennell said he was happy to see competitors engaging in safe sex at the athletes village even if it caused problems with the plumbing.

Reports claimed that thousands of used condoms had been clogging up the toilets at the village, which is home to 7,000 competitors.

"This shows that athletes are being responsible and are promoting safe sex," said Commonwealth Games Federation president Fennell on Thursday.

The Daily Telegraph reported a condom vending machine had been installed at the village, containing around 4,000 contraceptive packs.

scary-part deux

thank the Lord. alin's sister is back with the family! i'm so happy and relieved for alin and her family.
now that i know she's safe, i thought i'll just share here what alin told me she had to go through in search of her sister.
after they've made the police report, her family tried to contact her sister on her cell, as she later did send an sms to her mom, telling her she's with a friend or sth like that. when they tried again, her cell was off. so they asked if maxis could help locate where she was based on the sms. maxis wouldnt release the info without a letter or order from the police. so they went back to the police to ask for the letter. guess what the police told alin?
"oh saya cuti hari ni, so esok sajalah ambik surat tu!"
wtf?
alin of course, i can imagine, got angry la.. the more you delay the process, the further away her sister would be, and more difficult for them to trace!
so she went back and wrote a formal email of complaint to the PDRM website.
her dad in the meantime, got a direct number to the super-chief of police, and complained directly.
and barulah the sergeant got on his ass to issue the order and trace the number from maxis. and they found out that her sister could be in penang already! if they had waited the next day..tah2 dah across the border!
i mean, cuti tu cutilah, but takkan tak ada orang ganti?
and it's not a sempoi case like my friend got her cat stuck in a tree, it's her young sister freakin' missin'!
sheessh..

scary!

my fren alin's sister went missing 3 days ago. as i'm posting this i'm not sure if she's back yet, coz last i talked to alin just this evening, apparently her sister had contacted the family and was supposed to be sent home by her so-called friend tonight. i drove past her house just now, but there were already lots of cars parked in front, including the police, i assume she is back, alin havent replied my text yet. God, i hope she's back, safe and sound.

cakap biar terang, doc!

a friend at work shared with me this one:
- her brother, who i take it from her description, is a bit on the overweight side, asked her opinion regarding a symptom he is having. she advised him to do a few blood investigations, which include few that requires him to fast first...lipid, sugars, etc. so she told him "ingat, puasa tau pegi amik darah2 tu".
so the brother literally "puasa" la.. .. he even woke up at 4 am to drink a full mug of milo as "sahur", and went to take the bloods at 7 am.
obviously, she only has herself to blame, for not clarifying to the brother earlier on how it actually works ;)

this one happened quite awhile ago already, at the previous place where i worked. i probably blogged about it already too, cant remember, but i still think it's funny..hehe.
- a chinese colleague was asking in malay, a young girl's parent whether her kid ever had an ultrasound done to look at her kidneys, "puan, anak puan punye buah pinggang ada pernah tengok tv ka?"

haha!

"to cure sometimes, relieve often, comfort always"

yesterday i saw this early morning show on tv called "tanyalah ustaz".
the topic was "jin & alam ghaib".
interesting, and something i have not much knowledge about, so i sat down to watch while taking my breakfast before leaving for my oncall.
at one point the ustaz was telling the viewers to always consider alternative medicine, in this case, perubatan islam- whenever we fall sick , and especially when doctors/modern medicine are unable to find the cause or definite diagnosis for the medical problem.
but then he also went ahead and made a statement which totally shocked me, that i almost choked on my karipap sardin!
he actually went on to advise viewers "bila2 doktor tak dapat cari punca atau diagnosis untuk sesuatu penyakit itu, mereka mesti nak mintak satu- ambil sum-sum tulang. tuan2 dan puan2.. kalau boleh, cubalah elakkan dpd perkara ini.. ambil sum-sum tulang ini adalah amat bahaya.. boleh menyebabkan lumpuh. jika doktor mintak ambil, cubalah dulu cara lain. ingat ye!"
!!!!
manalah i tak almost had to heimlich manouver myself!

no wonder lah selalu susah nak dapat consent for bone marrow and lumbar puncture!
the public has already been misinformed enough about how doing a lumbar puncture and taking cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) or air tulang belakang can paralyse people, now he is saying ambil bone marrow or sumsum tulang will also cause the same. both are totally different things, located at different anatomic sites, and the procedures done to obtain them are also different.
sigh..i'm not here to talk about how we do lumbar punctures or bone marrow aspirates, we do it multiple times on a daily basis at the hospital, especially in the oncology wards, and since malaysia still require us to take consent for these procedures, "berbuih mulut" to have to inform patients and parents about them already.
the ustaz no doubt is probably well educated in his own field, but i dont think he should make such bold statements about medical procedures before getting the facts right.
whenever patients at the hospital express their wish to try other means, be it "islamic", bomoh, chinese, homeopathy, etc.. we never say "no", as long as they can still continue their treatments or follow-up with us, and the alternative medicine doesnt interfere with ours. and i know for a fact that whenever most of us do something, or about to carry out a procedure, we always pray that everything goes well... no matter what religion/belief we have, or who it is we were praying to, we know that we are merely humans, bound to make mistakes, and the last thing we wanna do is harm a patient, and so we pray to higher powers to help us.

o well, i'm probably digressing now a bit at least, i'm sure.. but i've mentioned this over and over again, reminding myself, my colleagues, the staff, and especially the really junior doctors out there (although i still consider myself junior as well) that we should always treat a patient just as how we would treat someone dear to us, or just as how we ourselves would like to be treated, should we become patients ourselves.

to quote a few points from the oath:

"I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.
I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug.
I will not be ashamed to say "I know not," nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery.
I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.
I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick.
I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.
I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.
If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help."

anak-anak michael

caught this year's grammys on tv yesterday morning. there was a tribute to michael jackson, and 2 of his kids, paris and prince, went up to receive the grammy on his behalf. they gave a bit of a speech about their dad.
look at them. so freakin' beautiful!
cant help but wonder what the real deal is with these kids. what's their real story. they went up the stage accompanied by their cousins, kids of the other jacksons. and altho the cousins themselves look every bit like the jacksons, you gotta admit that michael's kids.. well, dont. prince instead look like he can be zac efron's lil brother!
my brother said they look every bit what you'd think michael jackson would want his kids to look like.
anyway, no matter what the real deal is, i hope they continue to grow up to be beautiful, healthy and positive adults.
maybe one of them will write a memoir one day.

mother's instinct

these are some of the (scary) true stories i've heard from people about their maids. this in lieu of the recent news on maids being abused and so on. real names been changed for obvious reasons and just cause ;)

1) rozy was having a bad feeling about her maid. she couldnt specifically say what it is, but she told her husband that she's worried about how her maid fares at home when they're both at work. her husband reassured her that she shouldnt worry, from what he could see, she seemed to be okay with the kids. rozy wasnt convinced and couldnt get rid of her uneasy feelings. her girls were too young to tell her anything in details if she asked them. one was about 2 yrs and the other 8 months old. her husband then suggested that they get a webcam on their computer to "keep an eye" on the maid. so they did. and got the shock of their life.
scene: maid brought the younger girl (8-months) in front of the tv (which is where the computer and webcam were also placed) to change her diapers. she was watching the tv at the same time. baby girl, as usual, was struggling to get away from her, preferring to crawl away bottom-less and free. maid roughly struggled back with her to make her stay flat on her back. baby girl cried. maid then grabbed the baby's shoulders and shook her repeatedly, shouting at her to stop crying.
rozy, knowing all there is to know about shaken baby, brought the baby for a medical checkup after that (after sendinng off the maid of course). true enough, there were signs of shaken baby in her girl's brain already. apparently that wasnt the first and only time the maid had done that.

2) suzy was suspicious of her maid when she asked her for some money. it wasnt much, about rm50, and when she asked her what it was for, the maid said she had borrowed money from the maid working for suzy's parents, and needed to pay her back. so suzy gave the money to her maid, and later at her parents', asked their maid if her maid had paid the money back. their maid denied getting any and claimed she never loaned her any money in the 1st place. suzy then asked her maid again why she needed the money, and her maid confessed that she actually borrowed money from another friend, but she refused to tell who the friend was. suzy wondered who it was and when was it that her maid got to socialize. she suspected that it was when her older kids are at school, and only the youngest one at home. she told her husband this, and that perhaps they should install a cctv at the house to see what goes on during the day when they're at work. husband refuses since they cost a lot of money, and that she's probably worried too much about nothing. he suggested however on installing security alarms, due to the increasing number of break-ins they heard around the area, and they did.
one night they got the shock of their life when suddenly the newly installed alarms went off. they both ran down and saw that the front door was opened. the maid was in her room, shivering with fear, because apparently she was the one who had opened the door, not realizing about the new alarms. she was actually all ready and made-up for a night in town with her new boyfriend, and apparently that wasnt the 1st time she had sneaked out of the house at night after the family has gone to bed.

3) rudy and his wife have a business together. they have 4 kids, 3 in school, and the youngest, denny, is 2 yrs old. they have had different maids over a period of about 12 years now, no real problems, all the maids were sent back according to the scheduled contracts and whatnot. their latest maid has been staying with them for about a year now.
although they've never had any problems with their maids, rudy and his wife were always cautious, and they have had cctvs around the house for a number of years now. mostly for security, but it helped them keep an eye on the kids as well, where they can still see them from their office.
one fine friday, after the friday prayers, rudy got a call from his maid telling him that denny had bumped into a piece of furniture at home and now had a bruise on his nose. rudy went home and saw the bruise, a huge one across denny's nose, and also a small bleed in his conjunctiva (white eye). his wife was suspicious that the bruise was due to something else rather than bumping into the furniture, and so rudy reviewed the recording on the cctv for the day just to be sure.
scene: maid was feeding denny his lunch, and being the active boy that he is, denny refused to sit still while waiting to be fed. the maid got tired of shouting at him, and proceeded to slap him in the face (same site as the eye bleed) and didnt stop there when the boy started to cry. she then bashed him on the face and head with her fist, and when he fell, she then kicked him, and finally spit on him!!!
rudy was obviously so shocked when he saw this, told his wife, who was also too shocked and just too upset to see the tape. they brought denny to the hospital to be examined (he's okay, the lucky guy), then brought the tape and the maid to the police.

4) hady has 2 kids, a 2-year old boy, and 3 months old girl, and his wife has just gone back to work after the confinement period. they had a new maid to care for the kids, who they have trained in the past 3-4 months while the wife was still on maternity leave. one day, after about 2 weeks going back to work, the wife had to go outstation for a meeting and had such an uneasy feeling about the kids, she called hady and told him about it. she asked him to go home and check on them. usually, she was the one who would go home during lunch break because her workplace is real near their house. hady tried to reassure her that everything should be okay, and that she was probably anxious because this is the 1st time she's away from the kids, but she didnt believe him, at least until he promised her he would go home and check on them. so hady asked for a bit of time off from work that afternoon, and drove home. to his surprise when he got home, the front gate was locked as usual, but the front door was widely opened, and he could hear his son crying from inside the house, calling for mommy. he rushed in called the maid's name, and saw that his baby girl was in her cot dowstairs, sleeping, (and breathing, thank God), and then found his crying son upstairs in his bedroom. he called for the maid again but there was no answer. he asked his son where the maid was, but his son said he didnt know. apparently he woke up and when he couldnt find the "kakak" around the house, he opened the front door to see if she was outside but when he saw that she wasnt, he got scared and just went inside and cried instead. hady then informed his wife who immediately drove home, and they informed the police. they concluded that she left the house herself since she took all of her belongings with her. nothing was taken or stolen from the house neither.

i dont have a maid, and my family never had one (my dad "hired" his own sisters last time to help look after us when we were growing up), and i know for a fact that there are good reliable maids out there, but just to remind everyone to always be careful .. and to trust a mother's instinct.

burning questions

how is the chief minister burning the sprayed-on-white-cloth-resembling-the-israel-flag gonna help gaza?
couldnt he with whatever power/influence that he has, do something else that is more worthwhile that can perhaps give a better impact at the efforts towards gaza?
where are his advisors?
what were they thinking?

seriously!

orang minyak

i was talking to a friend today, about being in the "honeymoon period" right now.. you know, that period after the exam's over and all you can do is just wait for the results to come out.. lucky her she's got about a month before her results are ready, while i only have a week..
one week only..
i wish the week never ends..
i wish friday never comes..
sigh.
but it's coming..yea. i know.

anyway, i wont dwell on that. we were actually talking about this "honeymoon period" right now being the best time to just do nothing but watch as much tv as we want to, but there are hardly any good shows on! why was it that just a week ago..when we had to study like mad everyday, and every second counts, and watching a whole show on tv made us feel really guilty, but all the shows on tv then seemed really good?

like tonight for instance, right at this moment, i'm actually watching this movie-orang minyak-cuz there's nothing else on that are interesting!
the movie was made quite recent..not the p.ramlee version..that one is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better i tell ya!
i would categorize this as a z-movie..not a b, or a c...but a z. it's that bad, but there's something about it that made me keep on watching, instead of just turning it off (like i said, no use flipping the channels anymore cuz i cant find anything else that's interesting, and i do have a few dvds i can watch instead but i'm too lazy to get them from the room upstairs..hee).
it's like this sci-fi/horror movie with these stiff actors whose voices dont synchronize with their lip movements most of the time (poor audio editing), and low quality cgi and special effects, unfunny lines (where it was supposed to be funny), etc.
i'm not sure if the movie makers were actually trying to make this a z-movie on purpose .. but if they were, then i would have to give them credits for it...they actually did it well!
(btw, in case you dont know, there are such things as z-movies ok, i didnt make it up).

oh..and this is funny.. i googled the movie. to find who the producers/directors/actors are. one site translated the title to english.. check this..
orang minyak is --> OILY MAN !!
hahahahahahhaa
oh..the tears..

late latte

my roomate and me were "trying" to study (hee..) and the tv was on (how did that happen?) and this show latte@8 is on, the one jason lo hosts live from a starbucks cafe somewhere in the klang valley, i assume..i've actually never watched it, (it's friday nite and we're not oncall..if it wasnt because of the damned exam just around the corner-we wouldnt normally be at home in front of the tv at this hour!)
anyway, i dont have much time here(hee..) but there was this interesting segment we saw on the show just now which i thought i'd share here:

they had this list made up : top 5 things-what will happen if a ufo landed in malaysia?
#5) the immigration office will have a real alien problem
#4) they cant actually land in malaysia, because there is never any parking!
#3) we'll have "cuti-cuti ufo"
#2) the mamaks will start making "roti ufo"
#1) the alien will get immediate datukship!!

ok.. that #1 thing, is really funny i thought..we both ended up laughing. chances are the datukship will be from melaka too..ha-ha!
(i am based in melaka right now by the way ;))
so anyway, i thought that was kinda cool too, about the show i mean; there were quite a number of jokes that were only funny to malaysian or at least to anyone aware of all things malaysian.
the only other comment i have about the show is that everyone seemed to be so obviously sweating all the time! were they outdoors? if not then, no airconditioning meh?

ok, back to the books now!

fairytales

Cinderella's on her bedroom floor
She's got a crush on the guy at the liquor store
Cause Mr. Charming don't come home anymore
And she forgets why she came here

Sleeping Beauty's in a foul mood
For shame she says
None for you dear prince, I'm tired today

I'd rather sleep my whole life away than have you keep me from dreaming

[Chorus:]
'cause I don't care for your fairytales
You're so worried about the maiden though you kno
w
She's only waiting on the next best thing

Snow White is doing dishes again cause
What else can you do
With seven itty-bitty men?

Sends them to bed and calls up a friend
Says will you meet me at midnight?
The tall blonde lets out a cry of despair says
Would have cut it myself if I knew men could climb hair
I'll have to find another tower somewhere and keep away from the windows

[Chorus]

Once upon a time in a faraway kingdom
Man made up a story said that I should believe him

Go and tell your white knight that he's handsome in hindsight
But I don't want the next best thing
So I sing and hold my head down and I break these walls round me
Can't take no more of your fairytale love

[Chorus]

I don't care
I don't care
Worry bout the maiden though you know

She's only waiting spent the whole life being graded on the sanctity of patience and a dumb
Appreciation
But the story needs some mending and a better happy ending

Cause I don't want the next best thing
No no I don't want the next best thing
...................................................................................................................................
i like this song by sara bareilles.
mostly cuz it's a nice song but also cuz i'm a fan of modified fairytales or alternate life stories of comic book characters, esp the superheroes.

Coffee may lower risk of uterus cancer: Japan study

AFP - Monday, September 1

TOKYO (AFP) - - Women who drink a lot of coffee may have less risk of developing cancer of the uterus, a Japanese study said Monday.

The study led by Japan's health ministry monitored some 54,000 women aged 40 to 69 over about 15 years, during which time 117 women developed cancer in the womb, according to the medical team.

The researchers at Japan's National Cancer Center divided the women into four groups by the amount of coffee they drank.

They found the group of women who drank more than three cups of coffee every day were more than 60 percent less likely to develop uterine cancer than those who had coffee fewer than two times a week, the study said.

"Coffee may have effects in lowering insulin levels, possibly curbing the risks of developing womb cancer," the study said.

The medical team also studied the effects of drinking green tea, but did not find any link to uterine cancer.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control, uterine cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women.

....................................................................................................................................................................

yup, i usually take (ie need/crave) 3 or more cups of coffee per day. if i dont, i get a headache (withdrawal?). one of the reasons puasa month is a challenge for me.

time well wasted

schize.. the malaysian doubles (KKK & TBH) are not looking too good at the moment.

saw the movie across the universe, musical based on the songs from the beatles. i loved it.. the songs are already great to begin with.. the story was also quite good.. the simple love story, the vietnam war, the songs, the actors.. cool. really took a liking to joe anderson, who totally looks like kurt cobain btw.
after watching this i immediately downloaded the soundtrack. nice.

also saw forgetting sarah marshall.. funny lah..worth mentioning that it shows male frontal nudity-instead of female for a change.... oh, and mila kunis is so pretty in this movie too.

lars and the real girl - interesting. liked it. ryan gosling is so cool. i prefer his acting in this one compared to half nelson.
half nelson - okay lah. biasa.

the bank job - liked it, especially because it was actually based on a real story. all that scandal. wow.

hairspray - not my kinda movie.

am playing with the idea of going to see susuk.. hmm..mebbe..

darn it..the boys lost the 1st set :(

Government docs want on-call allowance raised to overtime rate

By DEVID RAJAH and AUDREY EDWARDS

PETALING JAYA: Government doctors certainly have a lot to complain about, and they’re mostly to do with the much better perks offered by the private sector.

But this time, they are griping about their counterparts who do overtime at government health clinics. And it’s all about a vast discrepancy in the on-call allowance and overtime rate.

Doctors at government hospitals get a RM10 hourly on-call allowance, while those at government health clinics get RM80 for every hour’s overtime.

The hospital doctors say they have to attend to life threatening and emergency cases at casualty units, while the clinic doctors mostly only attend to patients complaining about coughs and colds.

Doctors at government hospitals have to perform on-call duty several times a month, and have called on the Health Ministry to standardise the payment rates.

“The RM10 hourly allowance for on-call doctors is grossly unfair,” said a senior doctor at a government hospital in the Klang Valley.

The doctor revealed that eight to 16 doctors were rostered for on-call duty in most large government hospitals.

”On the other hand, our counterparts at the health clinics are being paid RM80 hourly for treating patients with coughs and flu,” he said.

Other doctors, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said they preferred to serve at government health clinics which have extended operating hours to 9.30pm on weekdays, and from 8am to noon on Saturdays.

“We don’t have to work long hours and the workload is also not that heavy at health clinics,” said one doctor.

A 29-year-old doctor from Malacca said that with the current inflationary pressure, young doctors could hardly survive, especially if they were married with children.

The ministry reviewed the on-call allowance after two decades in 2005.

For weekdays, the on-call allowance was increased from RM75 to RM150 per day (calculated at the compulsory 15 hours of on-call duty which has to be performed daily), while such allowance on weekends was increased from RM113 to RM170.

The ministry started the overtime scheme at 16 government health clinics earlier this year for doctors who volunteered to work from 5pm to 9pm.

This means that a health clinic doctor who volunteers to work the four-hour period will earn RM320, compared with RM150 for a hospital doctor's 15 hours' work.

A specialist doctor cautioned that young doctors may be discouraged from serving in government hospitals if this issue was not resolved.

Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai explained that “overtime” and “on-call” were different, likening them to an apple and orange situation.

“Being on call is something that all government doctors have to do while working overtime is voluntary. You cannot compare working overtime with being on call,” he clarified.

He said the ministry was not considering raising the on-call rate but pledged to work on improving benefits for doctors to retain more of them in the public sector.

...................................................................................................................................................................

what can i say? speechless sekejap..(kejap je)

okay..so apples and oranges are different..

like they mentioned in the paper there.. the apples work less hours, handle less life-threatening cases (even if they do, the plan would be-->refer to govt hospital anyway), oh, and can still get plenty of hours sleep after that, before going back to work again the next day if they have to .. AND they get paid more..
the oranges get longer hours, see more ill cases, get less hours of sleep (if we're lucky) and then still gotta continue work the next day if it's a working day.. and get paid less..

urm.. clarify again?

nuthin against the apples at all, cuz apples and oranges need each other, and should work side-by-side for the sake of the patients..

it's the big durian kahunas who dont seem to get it! yeah, okay....pledge away. *eyeroll*

ps: i wonder who that 29 year-old doctor from melaka is.. i know many who fit into that lil description ;)

pps: no...it's not moi.. was already 29 a few years ago...heh.

chris nolan rocks!

yup.. kudos to this brilliant director and his team for (finally) doing justice to batman. i mean, batman begins was already sorta-heading-that-way..but not-really-there-yet, but the dark knight is just "yes! yes!that's it!"..how it was really supposed to be (or at least in our minds, it should be) ... and this isnt just because i'm a fan of the comics, but people i know who've never read the comics think the same too.
simply put: i absolutely loved this movie!
christian bale was cool.
and heath ledger was super-duper awesome. what a loss.
